Learning with Music - musical fun from the start for children
This is the 6th level of early years songs for young children new to singing. We’re adding more notes and rhythms, helping them to recognise the sequence of scales, and division of musical beats. And all of this, through songs and games!

Oats, Peas, Beans
Oats, peas, and barley grow
Oats, peas, beans and barley grow
Not you nor I, not anyone knows how
Oats, peas, beans and barley grow
First the farmer sows the seed
Stands up tall and takes his ease
Stamps his foot and claps his hand
And turns around to view the land

Not you nor I nor anyone knows we’re

I do not know
Says the Great Bell of Bow

So they roared and they roared
In the sand, in the sun
Polly Put The Kettle On

Suki take it off again

They’ve all gone away
These songs are ideal for young children new to singing. We move to the next level with more notes and more rhythms! Children quickly gain confidence in recognising and singing sounds and rhythms, and even playing them on simple instruments.
